What is a Self-Guided hike?

Our self-guided trips are all about putting the adventure back in active travel. There is nothing like setting off on your own to discover what's around the next bend in the trail or over the next rise. There is a certain thrill to not knowing exactly what the day will bring, but knowing you'll have a hearty meal and warm bed waiting for you at the end of the trail.

These days many of you have the experience and skills to hike a classic multi-day route on their own but may lack the time or expertise to plan a hiking itinerary in a foreign country. Our self-guided trips can take a lot of the guesswork out of planning and the uncertainty out of hiking a new route in an unfamiliar area but still leave in plenty of room to be delighted by new discoveries.

You don't have to figure out how to get there, where to stay, which trails are best, how to make reservations and arrange for other logistical support. We craft each self-guided itinerary to fit your individual interests and abilities and provide you with the information you will need to start your hiking adventure with confidence.
